Best Parks and Places in Orlando to Propose and Take Engagement Photos

You’ve found the love of your life and picked a ring, now you’re trying to decide where to propose. Well, Orlando offers endless options for your special day. But some locations definitely stick out more than others. So, I’ve compiled a list of 15 parks and places in Orlando to propose or take engagement photos. From secluded parks to elegant restaurants, these romantic locations are guaranteed to sweep your partner off their feet.

1. Leu Gardens

Leu Gardens is located just 15 minutes from downtown Orlando. It’s comprised of 50-acres of beautiful gardens with over 40 diverse plant collections from around the world, including a tropical rainforest. Simply take a stroll down any of the garden’s meandering paths and you’ll find several spots for your fairytale proposal.

During your proposal, or on a separate day, you can venture around and take engagement photos at various spots within Leu Gardens. These spots include the rose garden, the lake overlook, a butterfly garden, cascading trees, and more.

2. Lake Eola

Lake Eola Park is a relaxing outdoor escape in the middle of the City Beautiful. This scenic park is perfect for popping the question. You can propose to your lover in front of the park’s gushing and majestic fountain. Or take your partner aboard a charming swan boat and pop the question there.

If you propose later in the evening, stick around and celebrate your engagement while watching the park’s fountain come to life with dancing bright lights at 8 p.m.

3. Mennello Museum’s Sculpture Garden.

The unique combination of nature and art makes the Mennello Museum’s sculpture garden an ideal outdoor space to propose. At this secluded sculpture garden, you can pop the question in several ways. You can do it near one of the garden’s eclectic sculptures, underneath its 350-year-plus sprawling live oak tree draped with Spanish moss, or against the backdrop of the beautiful Lake Formosa.

For more proposal or engagement spots, just follow the garden’s walking paths, which merge into the larger Orlando Urban Trail with over 4000 acres of art and nature.

4. Dickson Azalea Park

Dickson Azalea Park is the perfect oasis for love-birds who want to enjoy its shady trees, picturesque landscape, singing birds, and flowing water. Here, you’ll find countless settings for an intimate proposal due to the park’s widespread foliage and large trees. In fact, if you take any of the park’s pathways and you will find yourself near a cute little boardwalk or a small curving waterfall with the perfect charming backdrop.

5. Mead Botanical Garden

With its winding paths, babbling creeks, and tranquil greenery, Mead Botanical Garden is one of Orlando’s most idyllic locations for engagement photos. Like, Leu Gardens, Mead Garden boasts an array of flowering gardens and provides a variety of settings for your proposal in Orlando. These settings include a butterfly garden, a boardwalk, and multiple pavilions.

6. Kraft Azalea Garden

Tucked away in the beautiful corner of Winter Park is Kraft Azalea. This garden has a gorgeous, enormous Cypress trees and a beautiful lakefront. Due to its breathtaking vista and Roman columns, it is sure to inspire a proposal that you won’t forget.

7. Rollins College Campus

Next is Rollins College Campus. This gorgeous historic college campus features distinctive Spanish-Mediterranean architecture. Its archways, columns, brick-paved walkways and rose garden make it an amazing location for a proposal or engagement photos. Located near Rollins College is Dinky Dock park—a little hidden gem that boasts beautiful shady cypress trees and a dock that offers a beautiful sunset backdrop.

Because of its sprawling and lush grounds you can find multiple viewpoints for the perfect engagement photos. Simply stroll the 80-acre landscaped campus through its beautiful rose garden or along its classic red brick roads.

8. Central Park

Central Park is a gem located in Winter Park, just north of downtown Orlando. It is part of Orlando’s upscale Park Ave area which is known for its small shopping boutiques and fancy restaurants. Measuring at 11-acre park, Central Park has lots of open green space. But the beauty of its fountain, rose garden, and oak tree canopy make for a picture perfect proposal or engagement photos.

9. Baldwin Park

Baldwin Park is a trendy downtown neighborhood along a vast and shimmering lake. Although it offers a more upscale city vibe, it still has tons of beautiful greenery, serene docks, and lovely fountains that can create a nice setting for a memorable proposal.

If you propose here, don’t forget to celebrate your special day at the Hogwart’s Castle Nighttime Lights show. The show typically start around 7:15 pm (8:15 after the Daylight Savings), though this can be bumped up to as early as 6:45. The show last for approximately five minutes.

15. ICON Park Orlando

The Wheel at ICON Park Orlando is a tall observation wheel in Orlando. With views of the city from 400 feet up, ICON Orlando is also a remarkable place to propose. Simply embark on one of the private capsules and present your love with the ring while gazing at the city’s skyline.
